Privacy Policy
We keep Solar Activity Screensaver simple: no ads, no third-party trackers, and no behavioral tracking. We collect only what we need to deliver your license, support purchases, protect the service, and keep basic aggregate product stats.
Information we collect
- Purchase email: Collected by Stripe at checkout so we can send your receipt and license code.
- Payment details: Processed by Stripe. We never store or see your card number.
- License delivery details: We store your email and license key so we can resend your license if you lose it.
- Device identifier: The app sends a device ID to our backend so we can rate-limit downloads and create a free-tier entitlement. We store only a hashed version of this ID.
- Platform & app version: The app reports whether it's running on macOS or Windows and its version number. Together with the hashed device ID and the dates we first and last saw it, we use this only to count installs and active devices and to measure trial-to-paid conversion — in aggregate. It is never tied to your name or used to profile you.
How we use your email
- Send your receipt and license key after checkout.
- Deliver license recovery emails when requested.
- Handle refund requests or support questions tied to your purchase.
Analytics and tracking
We do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies, and we never track what you view or build a profile of you. The app does send minimal first-party diagnostics — a hashed device ID, your platform, and the app version — which we use only for aggregate install and active-device counts and trial-conversion stats. We do not collect behavioral or per-session usage data, and we never sell your data.
Device ID usage
Your device ID is used to protect the service (rate limiting), to issue a free entitlement and run your 7-day trial, and to count installs and active devices and measure trial-to-paid conversion in aggregate. We hash the device ID before storing it, and never use it for advertising or to track you across other apps or sites.
License recovery
If you lose your license, you can request a recovery email to get it resent to your purchase email address.
Refunds
Refunds are handled on request. Reply to your receipt email and we will help you. Approved refunds void the related license key.
